  • Maintains control over the general ledger (including reconciliation and analysis) to ensure the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, statutory reporting and other related information.
  • Develops and/or maintains standard operating policies and procedures for Singapore operations local regulatory compliance requirements
  • Manages, coordinates and monitors complex processes such as establishing and maintaining controls to ensure staff understand the processes and adhere to procedures for identifying and accounting for income and expenses qualifying for Non Profit Organization Tax Incentive (NPOTI) under section 13U of the Singapore Income Tax Act.
  • Manages on-boarding process from start to finish, liaising with in-country partners on implementation of local compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitors compliance with local financial, accounting and tax requirements.
  • Identifies system and processes inefficiencies; develop and implement recommendations for improvement.
  • Works with the company’s Finance & Administration, Corporate Activities departments, and Legal and Compliance to ensure compliance with internal and external policies.
  • Assures data integrity and transparency.
  • Assists in obtaining and reviewing geographical units financials for Asia – Pacific region in NetSuite in timely manner which will require heavy communication with Treasurers; Trains Treasurers in region 10 with NetSuite in regards to entering transactions, bank reconciliations and answering queries as needed; Reviews and updates currency conversion rates in NetSuite monthly and at the year end. Become an expert in NetSuite especially with Region 10 geographical units.
  • Oversees audit for the Singapore books, liaises with auditors for timely completion for AGM and regulatory reporting; Monitors expenses against approved budget and to keep Executive Director informed for cost control.




Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related subject; related advanced degree a plus
  • Professional certification as a CPA, Chartered Accountant, or similar qualification is preferred
  • Min 5 years of experience in accounting; Not for profit experience a plus.
  • Experience with requirements of the Comptroller of Income Tax (Singapore) and Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS)
  • Experience with automated financial systems, Oracle financial applications a plus.

Skills & Other Requirements:

  • Demonstrated skills in project management; ability to plan, execute and improve work processes.
  • Knowledge of regulatory laws that impact global business activities a must.
  • Ability to manage organizational change, solve problems, and implement process improvements.
  • Understanding of multi-cultural environment.
  • International business experience preferably in the Asia-Pacific region is highly desired.
  • Technologically savvy. Strong proficiency in Excel, Word, Power Point, Google enterprise apps, and required Oracle Financials a plus
  • The incumbent must interface and maintain professional working relationships with senior level volunteers, executives and professional staff of all levels.
  • He/she must maintain confidentiality and sensitivity as necessary with budget and personnel issues.
  • Must perform competently under pressure and exercise flexibility in scheduling while managing multiple projects simultaneously. Individual must be capable to identify and shift priorities as needed
  • Must support volunteers and management on special projects
  • Must be committed to working as a team player across departmental and organizational boundaries.
  • Must be able to present to all sizes of audiences, from departmental professional staff to large room
  • Excellent written communication and reading comprehension
  • Flexibility to telecon at night with Finance and Accounting in the US, and with volunteer treasurers in the region.
